Book a Week 2011: Books 27, 28, 29
WOAH WOAH WOAH. I have not posted about my books in a while. And that caused me to lose track of how many books I’d actually read! I got so caught up in Hunger Games, and then I transitioned so smoothly into the Flavia De Luce books, so I have definitely read a lot.
I was a little hesitant about the Flavia series, which was recommended to me by a clerk at Book City, but I regret nothing now.
Think Harriet the Spy meets Agatha Christie.
So funny, brilliant and charming. The first mystery I found to be a bit obvious, but the story was so well written that I didn’t even mind.
27: The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley
28: The Weed that Strings the Handman’s Bag by Alan Bradley
29: A Red Herring Without Mustard by Alan Bradley
I highly recommended this series, as it is so incredibly charming and fun that I honestly think anyone would love it.
I’m currently reading book 4 (I am Half Sick of Shadows), but I’m hoping to finish it soon so I can pick up Death at Pemberly!
